Almost a year after a tribunal ruled in favour of trade unions, putting on hold the collective dismissal initiated by Wärtsilä, a deal has been reached to delay any dismissals to December 2023 at the earliest, and to go ahead with the re-industrialization of the plant.

The deal was signed by the government, regional administration, the company, and the trade unions. The signatory parties will meet again in September to discuss the progress of the re-industrialization project based on offers received from multinational companies.
