The hearing took place on Tuesday 25 April and 26 April 2023 and is the most recent appeal in a long line of challenges against Deliveroo that stretch back to 2016.
The case concerns the right to collective bargaining and follows a line of cases argued by the IWGB on the basis of Article 11 of the European convention on human Rights (ECHR). The case also addresses the issue of partnership - or 'sweetheart' - deals between companies and certain trade unions which fail to address certain employment conditions such as pay.
