In Memory of Vít Samek (27 May 1953 – 15 January 2025)
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Vít Samek, a highly esteemed and dedicated member of the European trade union legal community.
Vít was a distinguished figure in the Czech trade union movement, a respected lawyer, and a longstanding Vice-President of ČMKOS. His career was dedicated to the fight for better working conditions and workers' rights, making a significant contribution to improving the lives of millions of employees.
Vít was an invaluable and longstanding member of ETUC NETLEX and all related legal committees and litigation advisory groups (ETUCLEX, FRIML, FRLiTAG, and many others) since 1996.
We express our deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, and loved ones.
His passing is a great loss for the entire trade union community and for everyone who knew him.
